National City, CA (August 1st, 2010) – The 19th Annual Automobile Heritage Day will be held on Sunday, August 1st. The event will begin with a parade and will start at 22nd & Cleveland in National City, west of the Interstate 5 at 8:45am. There will be a breakfast served at 7am provided by Buster’s Beach House Marina Gateway. The show will take place in Kimball Park on Civic Center Drive and National City Boulevard, behind City Hall. South Bay Fish & Grill will also be providing a barbecue plate for spectators and participants, which will be served by Mayor Morrison and City Council. There will be a variety of music provided by local talent including school and senior groups. Neiderfrank’s Ice Cream, National City’s first ice cream shop, will satisfy your sweet tooth.

The Riviera Association, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the Buick Riviera will also be present. The Riviera Owners Association currently has chapters in Australia & Africa and has members and owners worldwide.

The Motorcycle entries for the 19th Annual National City Automobile Heritage Days Car Show have been expanded to include 6 separate classes. Most people are unaware that there have been more than 600 different brands of motorcycles made in the last century. Before Henry Ford started selling 4 wheel vehicles for half the price of motorcycles, the 2 & 3 wheeled varieties were the most common forms of transportation worldwide.

The National City Automobile Heritage Days Car Show will honor the motorcycles heritage by staging entries in Vintage Asian, Vintage European & Vintage American motorcycles. Competition motorcycles in road categories and off road classes along with Custom & Modified motorcycles will round out a field of spectacular entries.

This annual event is organized by the National City Chamber of Commerce and its Automobile Heritage Day Committee. An impressive display of classics makes this event unique. Car show winners will be selected through a competitive ranking system by experienced car judges. Trophies will be awarded for each vehicle class. Awards include “Best of Show,” “People’s Choice,” “Mitch Guarano Memorial Award,” “Class Trophies,” “Best Unrestored”, and “Winner’s Circle.” Awards will be presented at 3:00 pm on the day of the event.
