For 53 consecutive years, National City has honored the contributions of our military men and women. National City's Annual Salute to Navy is the nation's longest running recognition of a City's local military.

Naval Base San Diego, National City's closest military neighborhood, continues its positive impact on National City. Many sailors and their families live in National City and participate in local activities to enhance our quality of life. Each year hundreds of sailors and marines help renovate homes for the elderly and disabled through National City's Christmas in July program and help clean up neighborhoods.
