San Diego Health and Human Services Agency is teaming up with our local Wrigley’s Supermarket to host a Fruit and Veggie Fest celebration in National City and we would like to extend a special invitation to the City of National City staff and dignitaries to join us as our VIP guest.
With so many choices at the supermarket, it’s often hard for families to be certain they are picking the healthiest options. Fruit and Veggie Fest in National City is one of several events and promotions being held across the state to help low-income Californians improve their health, and the health of their families, by encouraging them to eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables and fill their shopping carts with a colorful array of produce for their families.
Fruit and Veggie Fest events are free to the public and include many educational and fun activities designed to empower low-income shoppers with tips and resources that will help them put healthy foods in their shopping carts and on their tables. In National City Fruit and Veggie Fest participants will be able to participate in a variety of no-cost events including:
