  • For relaxation and fun, the South Bay has it all.

There are numerous waterside destinations in the South Bay, from Silver Strand State Beach to important eco-tourism sites like the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center, in the communities of Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, Coronado and National City.  Each is minutes from the major population centers of San Diego County and each can be enjoyed with a brief visit or a daylong stay.  Inland in Chula Vista is the U.S. Olympic Training Center, which has helped train U.S. Olympic hopefuls since 1995.

Shopping in South County can be a vibrant experience, with a diversity of small shops that sets us apart from other areas of the county. And for suburban convenience and chain store selection, the South Bay has four major shopping centers: the Chula Vista Center, Las Americas Premium Outlets (“off price”), Otay Ranch Town Center and Westfield Plaza Bonita.

History is a part of who we are in the South Bay, with a concentration of sites in National City, including Brick Row, the Stein Family Farm, Rail Car Plaza and other sites. Chula Vista, Imperial, San Ysidro and Coronado also have worthwhile historic destinations. And what visit to San Diego would be complete without a stop at the Hotel del Coronado, one of the most lovable and iconic buildings in America?
