Bike to Work 2012 — Get Your Employees Ready to Roll!

Mark your calendars – National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 18! Would you like to help your organization go green and encourage healthy alternatives for getting to work? Then join the 3rd annual Bike to Work Corporate Challenge! Join other organizations across the county as they encourage employees to try a sustainable commute choice throughout May. Biking to work can help your employees save money, reduce stress, and get fit! Changing habits, helping the environment, and winning the challenge will make your employees proud to say, “It’s how i roll.”
Six winning companies will receive recognition in a regional newspaper ad and on the iCommute Web site, mention in a SANDAG press release, and a commemorative plaque. To learn more, visit the Bike to Work Web page. Registration closes April 13, 2012.

Help your employees get ready to roll. iCommute and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition are offering a variety of FREE bicycle education classes. All seminars are taught by League of American Bicyclists certified trainers and are available to those companies that register for the Corporate Challenge.
Your employees can win too. Anyone who bikes to work in May, and logs his/her trips in TripTracker at 511sd.com/iCommute, will be entered for chances to win additional prizes. Participants register for Bike to Work Day to be automatically eligible for these weekly prize drawings in May.

By participating in the Corporate Challenge, your organization may increase its chance to win a 2013 iCommute Diamond Award, which honors companies and individuals for their outstanding contributions to relieving traffic congestion, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving mobility in the San Diego region.

iCommute is the San Diego regional transportation assistance program managed by SANDAG. iCommute assists commuters with transit options, the regional vanpool program, ridematching services, the Guaranteed Ride Home program, regional bicycle lockers, and SchoolPool services. iCommute also provides free consulting services to help local businesses implement employee commute programs
