Create More Jobs & Claim State Tax Credits
- On the Job Training - The Department of Rehabilitation can provide employers with up to $1,500 as a stipend to offset training costs and fees associated with training a student.
- Work Incentive Training - The Department of Rehabilitation can provide up to 100 hours of paid work experience for a student, while they are learning a job.
- Work Opportunity Tax Credit - businesses may qualify for a tax credit of up to $9,000 that can be used over a two year period by hiring an individual who qualifies as a member of a target group, including students with disabilities.
- Enterprise Zone Tax Credit - Businesses located in San Diego in areas that have high unemployment are eligible for a state tax credit for hiring individuals and promoting job growth for that area.
Transition Partnership Program
San Diego Unified School District and the California State Department of Rehabilitation are partnering with local businesses to provide students ages 17 to 22, in special education, with meaningful employment opportunities
