Ochoa Family Chorizo Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting
National City, CA (October 16, 2010) – Family owned and operated Ochoa Chorizo celebrates its grand opening on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in National City, CA. The National City Chamber of Commerce and City Council will commemorate the new business with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the store location at 2708 Highland Ave., National City, CA 91950 at 12pm.
Ochoa Chorizo is a Family owned and operated business for the past 35 years. It is the only Chorizo retail store in California that makes fresh chorizo to go including Pork chorizo (Spicy and non spicy), chicken chorizo and green chile chorizo. They will also be selling “made-on-the-spot” salsa roja and verde, tortillas, quezo cotija, carne sesina, and a variety of burritos.
According to customer feedback on Yelp.com, their product is the “best tasting chorizo on the West Coast. It is a kitchen and BBQ dream, treat, and delight.” It was voted the best chorizo in Orange County and now it’s coming to San Diego.
New owner, Marisol Gramlich shares, “My mom started making it for our large family, and soon our extended family and friends started asking for it. Before we knew it, we were making it out of our garage with a manual sausage stuffer and selling it. That's how my parents were able to put food on a table with 9 children. Fast forward to a year and a half ago when my dad finally decided to open a retail store in Santa Ana and business has doubled. They manufacture about 3,000 lbs of chorizo a week from their little retail spot. They have now added chicken chorizo and green chile chorizo. This year I decided to bring our amazing family recipe to National City and opened a second location.”
